What happens when old time radio dramas clash with a modern day 20-something? No technology, no Starbucks, and no one is PC! Will Madison survive? Follow along as she teams up with radio icons like Sherlock Holmes, Marshal Matt Dillon and Superman. Original radio scripts adapted lovingly to give a funny and modern look at the way things were and the way things are today. It’s as if the MST3K/Riff Trax guys were in the movies they riff. All episodes are stand-alone. Start at the beginning, or if you see a title you like, jump in anywhere!

Madison on the Air is a scripted comedy podcast that follows the 20-something makeup blogger, Madison Standish, who has been zapped from modern day into old time radio dramas (through some “freaky-deaky science-stuff”… we don’t exactly know how). With a deep love of the genre, Chrisi Talyn Saje adapts original radio drama scripts from the 1930s-1950s to include the fun-loving, mocha latte drinking, guy crazy, woke culture devotee Madison. She may be partnered up with Sherlock Holmes, or Marshal Matt Dillon, donning the tights of Batman’s Boy Wonder, fighting Martians or joining other famous radio icons on their adventures. Each episode features a different radio show. All in fun, Madison serves to highlight the way we were and the way we are today, bringing the lost art form of scripted radio series to modern audiences. No need to know anything about old time radio to appreciate Madison’s adventures.
Started as a way to flex her creative muscles during the 2020 lockdown, Chrisi Talyn Saje has put her quarantined friends to work. Through the magic of modern technology, all of the cast records their roles remotely and Chrisi (along with her audio engineering/music composing husband, Jeremy) brings them together into the roughly 30 minute shows. And while the Sajes are located in Los Angeles, the cast includes the voice talents of actors all across the U.S. and abroad.
Madison on the Air is free to listen to and is supported by a Madison Membership on Patreon or a one-time donation via Ko-fi.

The first four episodes launched on February, 1st, 2021.
A new episode premieres on the first of every month.
We mark the seasons by our February anniversary.
If you like old time radio dramas, everything from Dragnet to The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes to the kiddie shows like The Lone Ranger, you should like Madison on the Air. The performances are genuine. I love these shows way too much to ridicule or make fun of them. But you absolutely do NOT have to be familiar with old time radio programs to like our little comedy! By sending Madison along for the ride through these mid-20th Century series, she provides a modern commentary as the stories unfold. Imagine if MST3K could actually interact with the characters in the films they feature! She brings a lighthearted and fun sitcom-style comedy to the otherwise serious dramas, ever self-referencing, and pointing out the differences between modern day and the past.
What about kids? This is adult satire and really not geared towards children. While the language is TV level mild (even from Madison), most of the radio dramas deal with hard-nosed detectives, murder and crime. (Even Superman is rather dark by today’s standards) And Madison doesn’t hold back on the sex or recreational drinking/drug references (albeit she always leaves the audience to fill in the lurid details) I suggest giving an episode a listen and determining for yourself if your kids might enjoy it. I hope they would!
Each episode page lists the cast in the roles for that episode, and includes links to where you can find out more about these talented folks. Or simply go to our cast page.
